Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematics (Statistics) 1444 views

The University of Luxembourg is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematics (Statistics) for its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication (Ref: 50014404 – R-AGR-3432-10-C).

Duration: Fixed-term contract 24 months; possible extension by 12 months.

Starting date: flexible, between January, 31st 2020 and December 2020.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Research related to the following areas: Mathematical Statistics, Machine Learning
  • Contribute to setting up an internationally competitive research team in Mathematical Statistics at University of Luxembourg.
  • The candidate is expected to take part in the scientific activities (seminars, colloquia, schools) that are organized within Y. Baraud’s group and the Research Unit in Mathematics of Luxembourg University.

Requirements:

  • Applicant to hold high quality PhD in Mathematics.
  • Applicant must have solid knowledge of Probability Theory and Statistics
  • Applicant must demonstrate taste for the theory of Mathematical Statistics or its applications to Life Sciences and Industry and dedication to doing Mathematics at a research level.
  • Applicant must possess good written and oral skills in English.
