Applications are open for a postdoctoral fellowship for conducting fundamental and applied research at the Institute of Chemistry, Unesp – São Paulo State University. The Photonics Materials Lab has more than 25 years of experience in synthesis and characterization of glasses, optical fibers and photonic materials. The laboratory is fully equipped with all new technologies for research on glasses.
About the research:
- The postdoctoral research will be focused on the development of new probes combining electrical and optical detection.
- The candidate needs to develop an appropriate glass material composition to produce optical fiber presenting good electrical and optical properties.
Duration: thirteen (13) months
Starting date: March 2019
Fellowship value: monthly fellowships (non-taxable) include ca. R$ 7.373,10-plus 15% professional expenses. Travel expenses from and to their home countries will also be covered.
Requirements:
- Applicants should have a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, and have a genuine interest in conducting interdisciplinary research in an international environment.
- Previous experience in glass science, solid state physics or chemistry is advantageous.
Applications:
- Application to be sent via email to Prof. Younes Messaddeq (Younes.Messaddeq@copl.ulaval.ca) including:
- CV
- List of publications
- Research proposal (2-page)
