About the position: Selected candidates will be part of the project funded by a SciLifeLab-SU grant (SU FV-5.1.2-0523-19) and will work on RNA extraction and sequencing, computational quality control and characterization of detected sequences, homology analyses and wider interpretation of findings. This project will focus on the discovery and characterization of RNA complements of ancient tissue samples of extinct animal species, with emphasis on regulatory microRNA molecule.

Qualifications: Interested candidates must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country and have a record of high-quality scientific publication with wet-lab and/or dry-lab skills in the fields of evolutionary biology, RNA biology or computational sequence analysis. The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for application. Candidates having specific experience with palaeogenetics or microRNA will be preferred.
