Postdoctoral in inorganic synthesis Chemistry at Stony Brook University 1726 views

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Chemistry.

The incumbent must possess the ability and willingness to familiarize themselves with a new area of research, drive, problem solving ability.

The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

  • Carry out organic and inorganic synthesis, as well as corresponding characterization of compounds.
  • Lab maintenance including assisting with ordering supplies and equipment to keep the lab inventory well stocked; sterilizing glassware and media preparation
  • Prepare and carry out cell-based assays.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures.
  • Perform imaging experiments in vitro and in vivo.
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings presenting research data.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or similar disciplines.
  • 5 years of experience in chemistry research (this may include BSc/ PhD research).
  • Experience in radiochemistry.
  • Leadership skills: Independence, quality publications and expertise in synthetic chemistry.
