Oak Ridge National Laboratory is looking a postdoctoral research associate in the field of Physics-Informed Data Analytics and Experiment Automation

Required Qualifications

  1. A PhD in Physical Sciences, Statistics, Computer Sciences or closely related fields completed within the last 5 years
  2. Experience with machine learning methods, including familiarity with Tensorflow, Tensorflow-Probability, Pytorch, Pyro, Gpytorch and JAX frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in applying machine learning to physics and materials sciences problems.
  2. Strong Python programming skills.
  3. Familiarity with Linux networking tools.
  4. An excellent record of productive research demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate in English to an international scientific audience
  6. Ability to set priorities, multi-task and adapt to ever changing needs with the proven ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
  7. Capability for innovative research with minimal supervision and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with a broad range of colleagues

  1. The appointment length will be up to 24 months with the potential for extension. Initial appointments and extensions are subject to performance and availability of funding.
