Postdoctoral Position: ATLAS Inner Detector Group 934 views

The Max Planck Institute for Physics invites applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental elementary particle physics to strengthen the Inner Detector Group. The successful candidate is expected to oversee the sensor production at the Halbleiterlabor der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and to lead the construction of pixel modules at the Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, in close connection to our technical staff.

About the research Group:
  • The ATLAS Inner Detector Group at the institute has contributed to the design, construction and operation of the present ATLAS Inner Detector.
  • The group is contributing to the ITk project, by providing thin n-in-p silicon pixel sensors and modules, and by design and construction work for the carbon-dioxide cooling system.
  • The data analysis program pursued concentrates on precision measurements within the Standard Model in the area of top-quark physics, namely on precision measurements of the top-quark mass.

About the position:

  • Salary and benefits are according to the German public service pay scale (TVöD Bund).
  • The contract is initially limited until December 31, 2022 and can start immediately.
