Postdoctoral Position in Biology of Ageing 1281 views

The Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing invites applications from talented and highly motivated for a Postdoctoral Position in Biology of Ageing. The position is available at department for Biological Mechanisms of Ageing, headed by Director Prof. Linda Partridge. Applicants with a strong background in Drosophila or mouse biology, work with human cells including stem cells, and/or biology of the microbiome are encouraged to apply.

About the project:
  • The selected candidate will join an enthusiastic and collaborative team in an excellent scientific environment.
  • The department investigates mechanisms of ageing and ageing-associated diseases, using the fruit fly Drosophila, the mouse and human cells as experimental model organisms.
  • The work combines in vivo phenotyping with high-throughput techniques (proteomics, metabolomics, RNA-Seq, Bisulfite-Seq), molecular biology, biochemistry and high-resolution imaging to study how pharmacological, dietary and genetic interventions can improve health during ageing.

Starting date: selected candidate may start at the earliest.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must hold PhD in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field and a strong scientific track record of accomplishments and proven research capabilities.
  • Applicant must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The working language is English; knowledge of the German language is not required.
