Postdoctoral position – Biology of Infection 1157 views

Institut Pasteur invites applications for a postdoctoral position available in the Biology of Infection Unit directed by Marc Lecuit. The Lecuit lab develops the edge of research and understanding of the molecular mechanisms of microbial interactions with host cells and tissues.

About the Project:

• Macrophages are innate immune cells which act as sentinels by sensing their environment. Several microbial pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, target and survive in macrophages.
• The aim of this project is to study the crosstalk between Listeria monocytogenes and macrophages in different tissues including the gut, liver and brain, which are all targeted by Listeria monocytogenesduring infection.
• This project will contribute to critical infection and macrophage biology. It will lead to a better characterization of the mechanisms underlying the transition between homeostasis, inflammation and tolerance.

Requirements:

• Applicant must hold PhD or / and MD degree.
• Applicants must have a strong background in either Immunology, Cell / Tissue Biology, Microbiology, or imaging
• Applicant must be highly motivated and ambitious.
• Applicants with technical expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry would be highly recommended.
• Applicant must possess fluenency in English.
