The Department of Systemic Cell Biology (Prof. Dr. Bastiaens) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology is offering a postdoctoral position in chemical biology to work in an interdisciplinary team of biochemists and physicists towards reconstituting out-of-equilibrium life-like systems from catalysts and self-organizing biochemical and chemical building blocks. The position is available immediately and is limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be enthusiastic, inquisitive and creative team player with a PhD in chemical biology.
- Candidate should have extensive experience with protein (bio)chemistry, enzymology and chemical modification of proteins.
- Candidate should have a keen interest in understanding (bio)chemical reaction dynamics in complex mixtures.
- Candidate has also experience in lipid (bio)chemistry, microfluidics and has good knowledge about advanced microscopic imaging technologies.
