The department of Biology at University of Konstanz has open position for a postdoctoral position.
About the position:
- A postdoc position is available within a project that focuses on developing genetic transformation protocols for diatoms and dinoflagellates, and which is led by Dr. Norico Yamada and Prof. Peter G. Kroth.
- The goal of the project is the establishment of gene editing techniques for both, marine dinotoms (dinoflagellates possessing diatom-derived endosymbionts) and their endosymbiotic diatoms.
- The start date is September1st, 2020.
- The position is available initially for 30 months.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have strong experience in molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics of unicellular eukaryotes for at least three years, or having a PhD degree in these fields
- Strong motivation for developing new molecular approaches and protocols
- Applicant must possess basic English communication skills.
