The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) is offering a Postdoctoral Position in Cell Biology (m/f/d).
About the position:
- The postdoc position is available in the group of Marino Zerial
- Candidate must have strong background in cell biology and light microscopy.
- The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary project that aims to study protein compartmentalization on the endosomal membrane by combining superresolution microscopy with EM tomography (superCLEM) and correlate this with their function. For that, the candidate is responsible for the design, generation, differentiation and maintenance of CRISPR edited iPS and HeLa lines.
- In addition, CRISPR edited proteins have to be functionally characterized using a wide variety of biochemical and cellular assays as well as advanced light microscopy that amend the superCLEM.
- These studies will provide important information on the structure-function relationship of endosomal proteins.
- The full-time position is available immediately for an initial period of 2 years with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have a doctoral degree and documented experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Fluorescence Microscopy Imaging.
- A background in biochemistry and superresolution microscopy would be advantageous.
- Candidate should be able to interact with members of an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists, biochemists, computer scientists and clinicians, work in a competitive international environment and possess excellent communication and data presentation skills.
- Applicant must possess fluency in English as the working language is English at the MPI-CBG.
