The University of Stavanger (UiS) invites applications for a two-year position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Petroleum Technology at Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Energy Resources. The selected Postdoc Fellow will be affiliated with The National IOR Centre of Norway.

About the project:

• The project topic is “Decision and Data Analytics for planning and implementation of IOR Pilot Projects”.
• In this project, the Postdoctoral Fellow will develop and implement a decision and data analytics framework for the purpose of generating decision supporting information for IOR projects with a particular focus on the IOR pilot project decisions.
• The learning-by-doing (sequential learning) approaches leveraging on Bayes’ theorem and dynamic programming to identify and value optimal information gathering sequences, given realistic constraints, for IOR pilot projects will be used.
• Applicants with a strong background and experience in one or several of the areas of Bayesian modeling, stochastic modeling, machine learning, data assimilation, inverse problems, and signal or image processing will be preferred.
• The candidates should have demonstrated strong modeling and programming skills through previous studies and research.
