The Max Planck Institute for Medical Research is inviting applications for Postdoctoral positions (2 years or longer) available at the Department of Chemical Biology (Prof. Kai Johnsson).
About the project:
- The goal of the project is the development of lead compounds against new nociceptor-selective protein targets suitable for pain therapy.
- The successful candidates will develop novel approaches for the selection of small molecules from encoded combinatorial libraries (phage display, DNA display) that specifically bind to complex protein targets.
- Molecules generated through these approaches will subsequently be evaluated in innovative, disease-relevant biological assays.
- The project is part of a long-term collaboration with groups from Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.
- Priority will be given to candidates with previous experiences with encoded combinatorial libraries (phage display or DNA display), or in the fields of protein engineering and chemical biology.
Applications:
Submit applications electronically to [email protected] including:
- Cover letter (explaining background and motivation)
- CV
- Addresses of two references
