Postdoctoral Positions in Earth Observation at UCC: College of Science, Engineering and Food Science, University College Cork (UCC) invites applications from eligible bright, Ph.D holding candidates those are interested in research field for filling up the Post-Doctoral Researcher Positions in Earth Observation to join the MaREI centre in University College Cork (UCC)  to join an industry sponsored project focused on determining key Marine Renewable-focused oceanographic parameters from Satellite (Sentinel 1 and Sentinel-3) data streams to process very large Earth Observation datasets for bounded full-time for a period of Upto 3 years at the Post Doctoral level.

Project Name: SFI Earth Observation

Salary: €36,853-€43,828 p.a.

Duration: Upto 3 years at the Post Doctoral level

Closing Date: 17 August 2018

Educational qualifications: Interested candidates should have PhD Degree in Earth Observation / Remote Sensing or equivalent field with appropriate research experience as SAR, SAR altimetry, optical and microwave data, experience in deriving wave and current parameters from satellite –derived measurements, experience in python, IDL, Java and Publications in peer reviewed journals.

Desirable: Candidates who have experience of working with Sentinel Data (SAR / Ocean Colour) will be preferred from Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-3, experience in user requirements gathering, and engagement with non-Earth-Observation experts and Experience of working with earth observation companies will be preferable.
