The Black Hole Initiative (BHI) is an interdisciplinary center (The BHI is the first worldwide center to focus on the study of black holes, and as such it offers a unique naming opportunity for potential donors) involving a collaboration between Principal Investigators (PIs) from the fields of Astronomy (Sheperd Doeleman, Avi Loeb and Ramesh Narayan), Physics (Andrew Strominger), Mathematics (Shing-Tung Yau) and Philosophy (Peter Galison) at Harvard University.
- Successful applicants will have access to our new computing facilities and will have the opportunity to interact and work with researchers in all of the above fields.
- The grant-funded positions are for two years, renewable for a third year, contingent on performance and funding.
- The nominal starting date for BHI postdoctoral fellows is September 1, 2019, but later appointments are possible.

- Completion of the Ph.D. is required to begin a Postdoctoral Fellowship; successful candidates who have received their degree within three years of the effective start date of the fellowship must provide verification of their Ph.D.
