The Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) is inviting applications for number of dedicated, highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to work in Planet and Star Formation Department.

Study areas:
  • Formation of Planetary Systems
  • Search for and Characterization of Brown Dwarfs and Extrasolar Planets
  • Exoplanet Atmospheres
  • Observational and Theoretical Studies of the Earliest Phases of Low- And High-Mass Star Formation
  • Young Stellar Clusters
  • Extragalactic (Resolved) Star Formation
  • Astrochemistry and Laboratory Astrophysics
  • Adaptive Optics and IR Instrumentation.

Number of positions: Two or more positions

Requirements:

  • Applicants must hold PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics or a closely related field.

Duration: initially for two years; extension possible to three years

Starting date: flexible; preferred starting date after summer 2019

Remuneration: as per the German collective wage agreement for the public sector (TVöD) depending on qualification and experience in level E13/E14.
