The Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) is inviting applications for number of dedicated, highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to work in Planet and Star Formation Department.
Study areas:
- Formation of Planetary Systems
- Search for and Characterization of Brown Dwarfs and Extrasolar Planets
- Exoplanet Atmospheres
- Observational and Theoretical Studies of the Earliest Phases of Low- And High-Mass Star Formation
- Young Stellar Clusters
- Extragalactic (Resolved) Star Formation
- Astrochemistry and Laboratory Astrophysics
- Adaptive Optics and IR Instrumentation.
Number of positions: Two or more positions
Requirements:
- Applicants must hold PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics or a closely related field.
Duration: initially for two years; extension possible to three years
Starting date: flexible; preferred starting date after summer 2019
Remuneration: as per the German collective wage agreement for the public sector (TVöD) depending on qualification and experience in level E13/E14.
