Postdoctoral Research Associate I at the Chemistry and Biochemistry – Sci (2536) University of Arizona (UA)

The Pyun Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry-Sci. at the University of Arizona (UA) is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate I to conduct research with expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, polymer synthesis, and to perform new research on the development of new functional polymers . The chosen candidate will report directly to Dr. Pyun.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and conduct experiments related to polymer chemistry.
  2. Lead research teams in the research of functional polymers.
  3. Mentor other postdocs, graduate students and undergraduate students in the group on all aspects of chemistry (synthesis, characterization, theory, instrumentation training, paper/grant writing).
  4. Communicate new research findings via publications, meetings and memorandums.
  5. Additional duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry, or polymer science

Preferred Qualifications

Three – five years experience in polymer chemistry and synthetic chemistry.
