The Faculty of Science and Engineering, Department of Biochemistry at University of Turku invite applications for Postdoctoral researcher (fixed-term employment).
Duration: 1st September 2018 – 31st August 2022
About the position:
- The selected candidate would be highly motivated and dedicated Postdoc to join a research project that aims to understand a role of the flavodiiron proteins in regulation of photosynthetic apparatus and cell metabolism in cyanobacteria and green alga Chlamydomonas.
- The research project spans the fields of biochemistry, biophysics and biotechnology and includes a short and long-term mobility to the well-known photosynthesis laboratories.
- The selected candidate would be working within the frames of a Finnish Center of Excellence (2014-2019) and a Nordic Center of Excellence (NordAqua) (2017-2022).
- The ability to carry out independent scientific research and a deep knowledge in photosynthesis, good team-work and communication skills are required. Excellent knowledge in English, both written and oral, is a must.
- The project is funded by the Academy of Finland and the position is for four years starting earliest 01.09.2018.
