The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) at the University of Luxembourg invites applications for Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Systems Biology on project (m/f).
Duration: Fixed-term contract; 12 months (with possibility of renewal depending on the postdoctoral researcher’s performance and funding)
Role and responsibilities:
- The selected postdoctoral researcher will work on an exciting project on the application of network biology approaches to study the role of transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in salamander limb regeneration.
- The selected candidate shall develop a computational model that integrates gene regulatory networks with signaling pathways using transcriptome data generated from regenerating salamander limbs over different time points in order to gain a systems level understanding of this process.
- Predictions generated by the computational models will be experimentally validated in collaboration with Prof. Elly Tanaka’s lab at the IMP Research Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
- Applicant must possess strong computational skills and prior experience in mathematical modelling of biological networks is strongly desired
- Applicant must have strong first-author publication record in the fields of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
- Applicant must also possess excellent working knowledge in English.
Applications:
Apply online and applications should contain the following documents:
- A detailed CV
- Cover letter mentioning the reference number
- Description of past research experience and future interests
- Name and addresses of two or three referees
