The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics is inviting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d) Code 19-22 in Research Group “Gene Regulation and Systems Biology of Cancer” (Head: Dr. Marie-Laure Yaspo). A special focus lies on genome analysis of humans and other vertebrates.
About the project:
- The project will focus on pediatric cancer,s within the framework of an international consortium, for establishing and analyzing CRISPR-based functional screens in the aim to dissect and model cancer pathways for identifying novel predictive biomarkers and targets for therapeutic intervention.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a PhD in the area of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Cell Biology.
- The candidate will preferably have hands-on experience with cell biology or molecular genetics and CRISPR-based technologies. Basic bioinformatics knowledge would be a plus.
- Candidates should be team-oriented, have strong communication skills, and a demonstrated record of scientific achievement through peer-reviewed publications.
- Candidates should be independent and able to lead a research project in the laboratory.
Duration: initially for two years with the possibility of extension.
