The Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Chemistry at Uppsala University is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in organic computational chemistry, temporary position for two years.
About the project:
- This postdoctoral project aims at the investigation of three-center-four-electron halogen and tetrel bond complexes.
- The specific task of the postdoctoral researcher will be the computational description of the complexes of N-C-N and N-C-N complexes.
- The postdoctoral researcher will be involved into a multidisciplinary chemical environment and will take part of discussions with synthetic organic chemists and NMR spectroscopists.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must have a PhD in Theoretical or Computational Chemistry, or an exam which is judged comparable to a Swedish PhD in the same subject.
- The PhD has to have been completed within three years of the application deadline.
- If candidate have received PhD earlier but special circumstances, prolonged periods of illness, parental leave, military service, union duties and others of similar character, exist you are also eligible to apply.
- A talented and open-minded candidate, who is eager to learn and has a genuine scientific interest, is encouraged to apply.
- Extensive knowledge in and practical experience with computational chemistry, especially a strong background in electron structure theory (ab initio, DFT), is mandatory.
