The Advanced Organic Synthesis Research Team at RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science is seeking a postdoctoral researcher. The aim is the development of “next generation synthesis” and its utilization for the creation of functional organic molecules.
About the project:
- The work is on the development of direct and highly selective coupling of organic molecules without prefunctionalization with reactive groups.
- The major interest is also in the development of sustainable catalysis based on Earth-abundant metals.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should be those with a doctoral degree of 5 years or less.
- Candidate should have a strong background and experimental skills in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry, and catalysis, and should be strongly motivated and creative.
- Experience with synthesis of conjugated functional molecules is a plus.
- English will be used for research discussions.
Duration: one year fixed-term employment, renewable based on evaluation, to a maximum of the end of the fiscal year (March 31) in which the employee completes 5 years of employment.
