Postdoctoral Researcher: Virtual Reality and Robotics 1101 views

The University of Oulu is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Virtual Reality and Robotics. The position will be initially for two years. The available position is in the confluence of robotics and virtual reality in the research group of Professor Steven LaValle at the Center for Ubiquitous Computing, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

Starting date: earliest possible date is 1st September 2018

Qualifications:
  • Applicant must hold a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Applicants, whose PhD thesis has been submitted for review by 31.8.2018, are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants having core background in VR and/or robotics, experience in the following areas will considered favorably: dynamical systems and filtering, image processing, computer graphics, motion planning, HCI and perceptual psychology.
  • Applicant must possess fluency in both written and spoken English, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Applicant must demonstrate evident experience in writing scientific publications, acquiring funding, and teaching.
