KTH Royal Institute of Technology is inviting applications for Postdoctoral scholarship in Surface Physics/Chemistry. The scholarship is available at The Department of Applied Physics.

About the project:
  • The purpose of this project is to describe, on a molecular level, the dehydrogenation and decomposition process of gasified biomass over Ni-based catalysts and the influence of common impurities such as potassium and sulfur.
  • Adsorption/desorption and surface reactions of naphthalene using a set of molecular level technologies (both experimental and theoretical) on single crystal model systems, from UHV up to ambient water pressure and relevant reaction temperatures will be studied.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must hold a PhD in Physics or Chemistry when the project starts.
  • Hands on experience with UHV equipment is a requirement. Maintenance and development of experimental equipment is part of the work.
  • Experience in one or several of the methods (TPD, SFG, STM, XPS) is required.
  • Candidate must be fluent in English.

Applications:

  • Apply by e-mail to scholarshipapplication@sci.kth.se. (mark application with reference number S-2019-1118) and include the following documents:
