Postdoctoral Scientist at Swiss TPH, University of Basel: The Swiss Institute of Tropical Health and Public Health (Swiss TPH), University of Basel, Switzerland is a non-profit organization whose mission is to contribute to the improvement of international health through training, research activities and services. The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) invited application from eligible candidates with strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills for filling up Postdoctoral Scientist position in infectious disease modelling and machine learning (80-100%). The position focuses on using and developing disease models, as well as machine learning algorithms as new approaches to analyze large number of simulations.

About the position: Specific tasks for this position- to develop disease models and apply machine learning algorithms to support decision making in health, to provide evidence for product development decisions along the clinical development pathway through to implementation.

Duration: 2 year contract with possibility of extension.

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have Strong programming skills with Ph.D Degree in Mathematics, statistics or related discipline (quantitative epidemiology, ecology modelling, and computational biology) and Expertise/background and interest in areas of infectious disease modelling, epidemiology, public health analysis.
