The Department Biomedicine at University Hospital Basel invites applications for a postdoctoral / scientist position in Cancer Immunology & Immunotherapy.

Starting date: September 1st, 2019 or upon agreement

About the position:
  • The research is dedicated to delineate mechanisms of anti-tumor immunity in tumor models and cancer patients.
  • A major focus is the preclinical and clinical development of immunotherapeutic strategies against cancer.
  • Projects include the characterization of the innate and adaptive immunity in human tumors, the analysis of mechanisms of tumor-associated immune cell dysfunction including immmuno-modulatory receptors, and the development of strategies to reinvigorate immune cell function.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold PhD or M.D./Ph.D. in the field of immunology or biomedical sciences
  • Interest in human immunology, particularly cancer immunology; scientific accomplishments with publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Applicant must demonstrate ability to work independently and as a team player with good communication and writing skills
  • Experience in cellular immunology, preferentially human tumor immunology including multidimensional flow cytometry is desirable
  • Knowledge in bioinformatics and high-throughput data analysis is advantageous.
