Postdoctoral, Short-term Students Visiting Fellowships at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre For Advanced Scientific Research (JNCFASR): Advertisement for Postdoctoral Fellowship & short-term Students Visiting Fellowship (in Neutron and MuSR Science) under an Indo-ISIS project to visit Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), UK

 Type of Positions:

1. Postdoctoral Fellowship and
2. Visiting Fellowship 

Area: Study: for pursuing Materials Research in frontier areas particularly involving Nano-materials using neutron facilities at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), UK.

Funding: The fellowships are awarded under the Mission on Nano Science and Technology (Nano Mission) of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. Postdoctoral Fellowship.
   1. Hold a Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering or should have submitted the Ph.D. thesis involving some research experience in neutron/MuSR
   2. A very good academic record and have interests in Nano Science and Technology.
   3. They should be below 40 years of age and have evident capabilities in the relevant areas.
2. Short-Term Students Visiting Fellowships:
   1. D. students who are currently engaged in materials research that require the use of neutron and muon based techniques.
   2. Applicants should have completed two years of their Ph.D. work in the area related to neutron/MuSR.
   3. The selected candidate will be staying at ISIS during the entire duration of beamtime in a year (6 months) and use beamlines of Indian access for own use and help other users of Indian researchers.

MODE OF APPLICATION

1. For Post-doctoral Fellowship: Candidates may submit their application along with bio-data, a list of publications (attach reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc, M.Sc, M.Tech, Ph.D.), one-page synopsis of the Ph.D. thesis, a summary of research carried out. The candidate should request three referees to send their confidential evaluation directly to the address given below.
2. For Short-term Students Visiting Fellowship: Candidates should submit their application along with bio-data and a short write up (1000 words) on the proposed research which must be compatible with the ongoing research of the proposed supervisor. A letter from the Ph.D. Supervisor must be attached justifying the need of ncutron/muon based techniques in thesis work.
