Project Oriented Biology Education (POBE): JNCASR 2037 views

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) invites applications for Project Oriented Biology Education (POBE). The scheme is part of Science Outreach Programme initiated in 2006. The programme in biology is for undergraduate students from other Institutions.

Duration:
  • during the summer vacation; 6 to 8 weeks
About POBE:
  • Selected students are expected to work at the Centre for three consecutive summers and successful candidates will receive Diploma in Biology from the Centre.
  • Whenever possible, students will be allowed to work in the Centre during mid-semester vacations as well.
  • Specialization in a more focused area of research will be possible during the second and third year.
  • Those who complete the POBE programme with outstanding performance will be eligible for admission to the MS-PhD programme of the Centre subject to satisfactory performance in the interview.
Eligibility:
  • Students who are currently studying in 1st year of three year B.Sc programme only (in any science stream) are eligible to apply.
Fellowship value:
  • Rs. 6000/- per month

Announcement of selected candidates:

  • Only selected candidates will be intimated by first week of April – 2018 and the list will also be available on the JNCASR website.
  • Selected candidates must indicate their acceptance within two weeks of the email sent or else it will be presumed that they are not interested in joining the programme and the offer will be cancelled automatically.
