A postdoctoral position is available in the area of Protein Carbohydrate Interaction in the project entitled HEXPIN. The research will be carried out at DTU Bioengineering in association with DTU Chemistry, DTU Micro and Nanotechnology, Dept. of Biology, University of Copenhagen and Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Biophysical techniques X-ray crystallography
- NMR
- hydrogen-deuterium exchange-MS
- SAXS and molecular modelling are applied to describe interactions between lactic acid bacteria hetero-exopolysaccharides and repeating oligosaccharide units and milk proteins.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must have a PhD degree or equivalent.
- The successful applicant must have strong background in some of the relevant disciplines in structural biology and biophysics.
- Applicant having experience with structure and function of proteins and carbohydrate interactions will have an edge.
- Applicant must provide documented scientific excellence including publication of high quality research.
- Knowledge or experience in Production of recombinant proteins and site-directed mutagenesis will be advantageous.
Duration: The expected period of employment is around 1½ years. The positions are available shortly.
Location: DTU main campus in Lyngby.
