Raman Research Institute (RRI) invites applications from individuals for contract based Scientist C and B positions.

Potential candidates must possess excellent and consistent academic record and core competence and research aptitude in Physics, especially in the fields of Quantum Physics & Optics.

Position I: Scientist C

Institute is currently looking for one appointment within the Quantum Information and Computing lab, Light and Matter Physics group of the Institute.

Position details: The appointment is on a contractual basis. The candidates will work with the Quantum Information and Computing lab, LAMP Group of the Institute for a period of initial one year, with a possible extension up to five years or coterminous with the project (whichever is earlier).

Salary: A consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1, 00,000 /- per month.

Qualifications:

  1. PhD (Physics/ Engineering Physics/ Photonics) or M.Tech with 03 years of research experience (Engineering Physics/ Electronics/ Computer Science Engineering).
  2. Programming knowledge in C++/ Python /Matlab/ Mathematica.
  3. Experience of working in an optics based lab environment and
  4. Familiarity with practical handling of optical and opto-mechanical components.

Position I: Scientist B

The Potential candidates must possess excellent and consistent academic record and core competence and research aptitude in Physics, especially in the fields of Quantum Physics and Optics.

Quantum Information and Computing (QuIC) lab of RRI has recently embarked on a mega project on Quantum Experiments with Satellite Technology (QuEST) in collaboration with UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) under the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Salary: A consolidated remuneration of Rs. 85,000 /- per month

Qualifications:

  1. Sc (Physics/ Engineering Physics/ Photonics) or B.E./ B.Tech (Engineering Physics/ Electronics/ Computer Science Engineering).
  2. Relevant research experience.
