Research Assistant (Biotech / Biological engineering): NTU

Research Assistant (Biotech / Biological engineering) at the  School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore

Overview:

DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) laboratory is broadly interested in systems and synthetic biology. Specifically, we are actively involved in developing novel technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas systems, for modifying complex genomes and transcriptomes. We are also actively investigating the functions and regulation of ADAR-mediated RNA editing as well as other RNA modifications, especially in the context of cell identity.

Laboratory is looking for an outstanding project or research officer (RO) to join us in our adventure. Beyond the standard laboratory duties (such as ordering and receiving goods), the RO will work closely with current team members to advance our various research activities. Some of our projects include the development and testing of new CRISPR-Cas technologies in different cellular contexts, performing CRISPR screens, as well as studying the functions of RNA modifications in stem cell differentiation, development, and cancer.

Qualifications / Requirements:

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent research assistant, ideally with some experience working in a biology-oriented laboratory. The successful candidate should have:

  1. a bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences, biological engineering, or a related field
  2. experience in RNA biology, developmental biology, epitranscriptomics, genome and transcriptome engineering
  3. experience with standard molecular biology and cell biology experiments, such as cloning and mammalian cell culture
  4. a demonstrated ability to conduct scientific research is required

How to Apply:

Interested applicants please send your resume to Asst Prof Tan Meng How at via mh.tan@ntu.edu.sg.

Please attach full CV, with the names and contacts (including email addresses) of two character referees, and all relevant academic certificates.
