Research Fellow Astronomy Group: The University of Southampton: The University of Southampton is an institution topmost in the world and is one of the UK’s top 15 research-intensive universities. The Southampton Astronomy group and St Thomas’ Hospital are developing tailored Bayesian/Monte Carlo “smart’’ blood pressure management algorithms that combine patient-specific factors. Astronomy group invited applications from eligible candidates for filling up Research Fellow Full Time Fixed Term position for 1 year funded by the Alan Turing Institute to be working in collaboration with the Astronomy group at the University of Southampton and ST Thomas’ Hospital at King’s College London.
About the position: This position will work with St Thomas’ Hospital to conduct “in silico” clinical trials, which aim to improve the proportion of hypertensive individuals achieving the desired blood pressure target with the minimal burden on both patient and healthcare system.

Salary: £30,942 to £38,017 Per annum
Location for position: Highfield Campus
Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in medical science and experience in bio-statistics or data science with some background knowledge of statistical and mathematical modelling. Experience of working with clinical samples and a good laboratory practice framework will be preferred.
