Research Fellow (Postdoc): Brain Mapping and Modelling 645 views

Monash University is inviting applications for a post of Research fellow to be supported by an ARC grant, joining the Monash Institute of Cognitive and Clinical Neurosciences working under the supervision of Professor Mark Bellgrove.

Duration: 3 year fixed-term appointment

About the position:

  • The selected candidate will be part of a research program investigating research relevant to MICCN’s Integrated Research Programs: ‘Neurodevelopment’ and ‘Computational Neuroscience,’ leveraging specialist expertise in areas such as, neuroimaging, imaging genetics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, connectomics, and systems neuroscience.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • To design experiments in conjunction with the principal investigators
  • To recruit participants, set-up equipment, acquire behavioural and physiological data, and perform sophisticated data analysis and statistics
  • To prepare ethics applications and write-up results for publication in leading peer-reviewed neuroscience journals
  • Attend and present work at meetings with colleagues and collaborators
  • With the support of the principal investigators, prepare for appropriate career advancement

Qualifications

  • Applicant must hold doctoral qualifications in Psychology, Neuroscience or a cognate discipline or a closely related field; or an honours degree in the relevant discipline or have equivalent qualifications or research experience; or an honours degree or higher qualifications in the relevant discipline and/or progress towards a doctorate in the relevant discipline
