Research position in Mathematical Modelling: University of Southampton: The University of Southampton is an institution in the top rank of world universities and one of the UK’s top 15 research-intensive universities, invited application from eligible highly motivated  PhD holder scientists for Full Time Fixed Term (21 months) Research Fellow in Mathematical Modelling of Plant-Soil Interaction at Highfield Campus for the project “Real-time in situ sensing of soil nitrogen status to promote enhanced nitrogen use efficiency in agricultural systems” funded by the UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) under the Sustainable Agriculture Research & Innovation Club (SARIC) programme.

About the Project: The project consists of analysis and numerical solutions of partial differential equations describing partially saturated water and solute flow in the soil. This project is being led by Bangor University (Prof. Davey Jones) and is in direct collaboration with the University of Southampton (Prof. Tiina Roose) also Nottingham University (Prof. Murray Lark) and the John Innes Centre (Prof. Tony Miller).

Salary: £30,395 to £33,199 per annum

Duration: Full Time Fixed Term (21 months)

Location for Studentship: Highfield Campus

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have Ph.D degree or equivalent in applied mathematics/ computational engineering/computational civil engineering/any other computationally competent subject.
