Research Scientist / Postdoctoral Researcher, RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project, Japan

Description: RIKEN on Yoshida campus of Kyoto University conducts Topological data analysis (TDA). It provides a device for the persistent homology that extracts multiscale topological features embedded in data. TDA is applied in scientific and engineering problems like materials science, life and medical science, meteorology, and economics. The applicant is likely to develop theories and algorithms on TDA and their applications.

Positions:

  • Research Scientist: The candidate will carry out research and other work in related research themes. This position is for those with a doctoral degree more than 5 years.
  • Postdoctoral Researcher: The candidate will carry out research and other work in related research themes under the direction of supervisors. This position is for those with a doctoral degree of 5 years or less.

Disciplines: Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematical Science or any relevant field.

Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in a relevant field.

 Requirements:

  • PhD on or before the date of employment in above field is must.
  • Should be proactive, supportive and flexible.
  • Capable to answer according to the situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Group activity skills to fulfill the tasks.
