Research Tech/Postdoctoral Position in Functional Genomics
A research tech or postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Gaurav Varshney. The lab is looking for a highly motivated, passionate, and independent individual with excellent interpersonal skills to play a vital role in advancing the lab’s mission.
Research Theme
The lab is interested in tackling the challenge of systematically validating the flood of human candidate disease genes identified in various genome-wide association (GWAS) and whole-exome sequencing studies by developing disease models in zebrafish.
The selected candidate will use zebrafish and the emerging genomic technologies to functionally characterize the Conserved Non-coding DNA elements (CNEs) and identify the cis regulated genes.
Research Disciplines: Our research interests span multiple disciplines: genetics, genomics, molecular biology, and developmental biology.
Requirements/Qualifications
- A recent graduate (research tech) or doctorate (postdoc) in Biological Sciences or related fields with experience in Molecular Biology, Cell and Developmental Biology, and Genetics is required.
- Experience working with zebrafish is essential.
