Researcher (COASTGUARD): Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) 507 views

The working group Submarine Groundwater Discharge at Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) is looking for a Researcher (Reference number: 208-COASTGUARD) to contribute to the project “Global coastal groundwater dynamics in a changing climate (COASTGUARD) that the group jointly carries out with the University of Potsdam. A main task will be the development of a global dataset on coastal permeability. The researcher will develop the dataset, contribute to analyzing coastal groundwater flow, publish the results and exchange information with the project partners. The position should be filled from January 15th, 2022. The contract will be limited to 12 months.

Requirements:
  • Applicant must have strong skills in geodata collection and analysis
  • Background knowledge of controlling factors on permeability and coastal groundwater flow
  • Experience in application of GIS software
  • Applicant must hold PhD degree in the general field of Coastal Hydrogeology is beneficial but not required
  • Excellent English writing skills and proven inclination to scientific publishing
  • A strong interest to work independently in an interdisciplinary and solution-oriented environment
