DTU Bioinformatics offers 2 positions as scientific programmers. DTU Bioinformatics is an international department engaged in basic research within bioinformatics and systems biology.
Starting date: 1 February 2017
Responsibility and Tasks involved:
- Successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of infrastructure and operations of the projects selected for.
- Candidate will support scientific staff in developing efficient software and algorithmic methods.
- Candidate will also help in improving the overall computer infrastructure and services.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have some experience in creating web applications, understanding of RESTful Web Services.
- Applicant must have hands-on experience with Python back end frameworks (such as Django, Flask or similar); modern front-end development in HTML, CSS, JS, and experience with JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Applicant must have experience in building applications using MVC patterns (AngularJS or similar frameworks).; relational databases, Test-driven development (TDD), version control systems (git), task runners (Gulp), provisioning/configuration management (Ansible).
- Applicant must have knowledge of Linux/Unix; Open Stack.
- Applicant must have experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) paradigm; data center automation products; managing network infrastructures.
- Applicant may have background in life sciences and/or bioinformatics (Optional).
