Scientist ‘C’ as Head, Stem Cell Facility 1011 views

Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine is inviting applications for a post of Scientist ‘C’ as Head, Stem Cell Facility.

About the position:
  • The position involves management and coordinating operations in the Stem Cell Facility, provided as a core facility for scientists at inStem and the National Centre for Biological Science (NCBS.
  • The Stem Cell Facility comprises laboratories situated in two research complexes (buildings) on campus and provides managed space and training to users from within the campus (and outside), to generate human iPSCs, ESCs etc.
  • Responsibilities of the Head facility, include (but are not limited to): coordinating activities and operational aspects of the stem cell laboratories, maintenance and distribution of core human ESC/iPSc lines, providing training in the generation and use of iPSCs, ESC and iPSC-based models of disorders, including genome-editing to users within the campus.
  • Training workshops and outreach activities are encouraged.

Qualification:

  • Applicant must hold M.Sc. and PhD degree in Biology with prior experience in growing/maintaining human embryonic stem cells (hESC)/induced pluripotent stem cell lines (iPSc) and in developing and maintaining collections of stem cells/tissues.
  • Individuals with a proven track record of management of team-based activities, are encouraged to apply.

Age Limit: Below 40 years (relaxable for meritorious candidates)

Remuneration: Scale of Pay: PB-3 (Rs. 15600-39100) with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600 (Level 11 of 7th CPC)

Duration: Direct Recruitment with probation for 1 year.
