The Marine Seismology Research Group, Subduction Dynamics Research Center (SDR), Research Institute for Marine Geodynamics (IMG) at Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) is recruiting Scientist or Technical Scientist (CKS-004).
About the position:
- Applications are open for a Scientist or Technical Scientist who is actively involved in marine controlled-source seismic surveys.
- The successful applicant is expected to process controlled-source seismic data, perform geological interpretations, and develop new seismic survey and/or imaging techniques to facilitate the elucidation of detailed seismic structures beneath the seafloor.

Requirements:
For Scientist:
- Applicant must hold PhD and have a strong enough record to be a scientist in a closely related research field.
For Technical Scientist:
- Applicant must have completed a PhD and have a strong enough record to be a technical scientist in a closely related research field.
- Applicant of any nationality and either gender are encouraged to apply.
Duration: April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2025
