The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics invite applications for a scientist position in the Deep Sequencing Facility. The position is immediately available for an initial period of two years.
About the position:
- The facility offers a broad and comprehensive portfolio of next generation sequencing methods to support ambitious NGS projects of all research groups at our institute.
- As modern core laboratory the deep sequencing facility is equipped with up-to-date sample preparation and deep sequencing technology including short- and long-read sequencing systems (NovaSeq6000, Nanopore Sequencing) as well as robotic liquid handling devices (Biomek i7).
- The main focus of the Institute is Epigenetic.
- This area deals with inheritable traits, which are not caused by changes in the DNA sequence.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for application and optimization of sequencing workflows such as ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq and WGS.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be highly motivated and experienced scientist to strengthen the NGS team.
- Candidate must be a strong team player and able to perform high quality analysis in a responsible and independent manner.
- Applicant must have a PhD in relevant live science disciplines
- Strong hands on NGS lab experience and experience with operation of liquid handling machines
- Proven work experience in protocol optimization and successful troubleshooting
- Proven work experience with common lab techniques and lab management
- Willingness and ability to support multiple research projects and the laboratory in an organized fashion
- Knowledge of relevant literature
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills
