SLU: Researcher/Postdoc in Soil Science: The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) develops the understanding and sustainable use and management of biological natural resources. SLU – Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden invited application for filling up the following Temporary employment of Researcher in Soil Science available within the faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences at the Department of Soil and Environment, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala, funded through a project granted by the Swedish Energy Agency and involves collaboration with several other researchers.

About the Positions: This project is focused on modelling the influence of biofuel extraction on the nutrient status and acidity of forest soils and runoff. In the first phase of the project, data from various field experiments are compiled in a form suitable for modelling.

Position: Researcher

Place of posting: Uppsala

Salary: According to agreement.

Duration: Temporary employment, 12 months, with possible extension

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have PhD in soil science, geosciences, environmental assessment/equivalent, preferably on biogeochemistry in the soil-plant system and earlier experience of field work/laboratory work, experience in using mathematical models for assessing the acidity of forest soils. Post-doc experience at another university than where the PhD was obtained, experience of research outside of academia and a good publication record, will be respected. The candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English. Candidates interested in modeling enzyme immobilization on surfaces, and therefore experience in relevant computational approaches will be preferred.
