Staff member position is vacant in computational biology at EMBL. Location of the position is at EMBL-EBI Hinxton near Cambridge, UK. Group is looking for passionate, motivated computational biologist to lead independent research groups at EMBL-EBI and can offer successful applicants a unique prospect to pursue their own research route in computational biology.

Staff member will be authorized for the recruitment of students and postdocs to the group, liberty to pursue any research topic within computational biology and will be provided with world class facilities and no teaching requirements. All topics in computational biology are within range for these research leader roles, from methods development through to data discovery, and from electron microscopy data analysis through to ecological modelling, including genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and chemoinformatics.

EMBL-EBI is part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and it is a world-leading bioinformatics centre providing biological data to the scientific community with proficiency in data storage, analysis and illustration. EMBL-EBI provides without restraint available data from life science experiments, carryout basic research in computational biology and gives a thorough user training program which supports scholars in academic and industry.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PhD in a Biological or quantitative science.
  • Strong prospective in setting their own research agenda and show substantiation of leadership qualities.
