As part of the ongoing MULTIPLY Research and Training activities, Summer School 2017 is announced by the Lake Como School of Advanced Studies (Complexity in Nonlinear Photonics). The school will bring together experts in emerging photonic technologies and fundamental physics to share with young researchers their knowledge and interdisciplinary approaches for understanding and designing complex photonic systems.
Location: Lake Como School of Advanced Studies, Como, Italy
Duration: September 25-29, 2017
Number of places: up to 30
Organizing partners:
- University of Brescia, Italy
- Novosibirsk State University, Russia
- Aston University, UK (MULTIPLY co-coordinator)
Study areas:
- Complexity of optical communication systems, such as the nonlinear Fourier transform and transmission over multimode fibres, complexity in quantum systems emulated in photonics (including optical computing)
- PT-symmetric systems
- Complexity of emerging novel materials and components like meta-surfaces and micro-resonators.
- Complexity in bio-medical photonic applications
About the program:
- comprehensive review talks from major figures in complementary areas of photonics
- invited speakers will deliver one hour lectures over 5 days
