Systems and Network Biology: 2 PhD positions; NTNU 1372 views

2 PhD positions are available in Systems and Network Biology at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). One position is funded by the Research Council of Norway through the Biotek2021 Digital Life program, the other is backed by the K.G. Jebsen Center for Genetic Epidemiology.

Duration:

  • 3 years with one year extension
  • 25 % teaching duties in agreement with the Department

Qualifications required:

  • Applicants must have Master’s degree (or it will be completed spring 2016) with an average grade point of B or better in Systems Biology/Computational Biology/ Biostatistics/ Physics/ Biochemistry/ Biology or a closely related field.
  • Applicant must have strong knowledge of basic biology or biochemistry and experience with programming.
  • Applicant must have experience with network analysis and constraint-based analysis
  • Applicant must be creative, with a strong ability to work problem oriented.
  • Applicant must also be able to undertake interdisciplinary research and take keen interest in learning and working in teams.
  • Applicant is required to have excellent fluency in the English (spoken and written).
  • Applicants from non-English-speaking countries outside Europe must document English skills by an approved test, which are TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE).
