PhD fellowship is open in Theory of Online Machine Learning at the Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen

About the Project:

  • The recipient will work on theoretical questions in online machine learning, with particular emphasis on algorithms and lower bounds that are applicable over ranges of problems.
  • While the primary focus of the project is theoretical, application of the results to real-world problems will be encouraged and the PhD fellow will have access to a wide range of experts in application domains.
  • Principal supervisor for the project will be Asstt. Prof. Yevgeny Seldin (seldin@di.ku.dk)

Duration: 3-year

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Applicant must have strong mathematical background
  • Applicants with excellent background in machine learning and probability theory will have an edge.
  • Applicant must demonstrate keen interest in challenging theoretical problems in the fields of online learning / machine learning / probability theory
