Applications are invited for two postdoc researchers to initiate and carry out research that connects the various robotics departments involved in Twente Robotics.

The Challenge

As a postdoctoral researcher at Twente Robotics

  • You will have a senior role and be engaged in running national and international projects;
  • You are a great teammate working on a broad range of robotics topics with special focus on tele-robotics and wearable robotics;
  • You will function as a bridge among the various groups within Twente Robotics;
  • You will be involved in the supervision of PhD students.
  • Besides conducting research and publishing its results, you will support acquiring funds from our national science foundation, the European Union, companies, or other resources to start new projects;

You will be embedded in the department of Biomechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Technology (www.utwente.nl/en/et/be) or in the department of Robotics and Mechatronics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (www.ram.ewi.utwente.nl). However, your primary focus will be cross-departmental while operating in the fields of wearable robotics, tele-robotics or medical robotics.

  1. The university offers a dynamic robotics ecosystem with hardworking colleagues and excellent (research) facilities. Your appointment will be on a full-time position for two years, with possible extension, within a multidisciplinary and international scientific environment.
  2. Starting salary ranges from € 3.173 to € 4.166 gross per month depending on your background, relevant experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) of the Dutch Universities.
  3. The terms of employment include a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, a year-end bonus of 8.3%, a solid pension scheme and a minimum of 29 holidays in case of full-time employment;

Requirements:

  1. a PhD in an engineering subject relevant for robotics;
  2. motivated to collaborate in a team, and to explore areas beyond your own;
  3. fluent in English.
  4. experimental and theoretical skills;
