The University of Oslo (UiO) offers International Summer School Scholarships (ISS) to applicants from certain countries. Competition for these scholarships is high and resources are limited, so the majority of scholarships granted are partial scholarships. Only approx. 50 full scholarships are awarded.

Requirements:

  • Applicant’s academic background must be relevant to the course applied for.
  • Applicant’s professional background must be relevant to the course applied for.
  • Applicant’s financial need
  • Applicants from Asia, Oceania, Africa, Central America and South America, Caucasus and Balkans, Former Soviet Union states, EU and EEA countries, USA and Canada are eligible for applying.

Terms and conditions of ISS scholarships

General:

  • value of the scholarship will not be paid in cash
  • Scholarships are inflexible once they are awarded.
  • travel tickets will be booked and paid for by the ISS
  • applicant may be asked to write a report or letter to the scholarship donor
  • donor has the right to request your final grades from the ISS
  • applicant is responsible for covering expenses that are not included in the scholarship; travel costs to and from the airport, visa fees

Academic:

  • Applicant must meet attendance requirements
  • Applicant must submit all mandatory assignments
  • Applicant must attend all exams.

Self-financed applicants:

  • Scholarship applicants: Apply before 1 February
  • Self-financed applicants: Apply before 1 March
