Visiting Professor in Environmental Studies at UBC 1309 views

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is inviting applications for its Program in Environmental Studies at Williams College. The position is a full-time, two-year visiting professor position in environmental studies.

Tenure: 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021

About the position:

  • Candidates are expected to have broad training in environmental social sciences to contribute to the curriculum and vitality of the interdisciplinary program.
  • The successful candidate will have training in Anthropology, Sociology, Geography, History or a related interdisciplinary environmental studies field.
  • Applicant must hold PhD at time of appointment.
  • Full-time visitors teach four courses per year, two per semester, and every other year, a single course during our January Winter Study.
  • Teaching assignments will likely include one section of our interdisciplinary introductory course (Nature & Society) and one section of our senior core capstone seminar.
  • The visitor will also teach two interdisciplinary elective courses each year and a Winter Study course in January 2021.
