The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is the specialized cancer research Agency of the World Health Organization (WHO). The Agency also has strong programmes committed to describing the global cancer burden, and to the assessment of carcinogenicity, through its Monographs Programme. There is stress on interdisciplinary work in the Agency’s research activities, as well as a focus on biostatistics, bioinformatics, and related methodological developments.
Location: Lyon, France, IARC has both epidemiology and laboratory Groups
Start date: The Award should be taken up no later than 30 November 2018.
Award value:
- 48,000 Euros/annum, pro-rata, according to length of stay
- Travel cost for the Awardee (in certain circumstances for dependents)
- Health insurance
Requirements:
- This Award is for a qualified and experienced senior investigator with recent publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, who wants to spend 6-12 months at IARC, working on a joint project in a research area related to the Agency’s programmes.

- Cancer etiology (including infections, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, radiation, and genetics)
- Cancer prevention (primary prevention, screening, and implementation research)
- Molecular and cell biology, molecular genetics, epigenetics, and molecular pathology.
